Are you looking for support with chronic, persistent or long-term pain, or do you know someone who would benefit? We run weekly groups in Burngreave, Firvale, and Firth Park. Anyone living with chronic pain that would like to learn how to better manage in their day-to-day life as well as socialise and exercise are welcome to join any of our groups.

Tuesdays
1pm – 2pm every Tuesday at Firvale Community Hub
This month we've covered a lot at our Tuesday group! We've talked about how to manage chronic pain at home and gentle exercises that you can do at home to help.
Community Wellness Services have delivered chair aerobics for us, as well as Tai Chi with us this month! Gentle exercises like these are great for keeping your body moving without overdoing it.
Our Julie, Wellbeing Coach and Menopause Advocate, has also spoken to the group about the Menopause and provided information about how that might affect pain levels.
Wednesdays
1pm – 2pm every Wednesday at Firth Park Hub, behind Firth Park Methodist Church
On Wednesdays we've had ACT in to deliver chair based exercises for the group, that help keep the body moving gently. We've also discussed a range of topics, such as mental health and depression, the benefits of self-massage for chronic pain, and we've tried out meditation too with our Patrick, Mental Health Peer Support Worker.
Marisa from Sheffield Mind joined us again this month to help facilitate conversations about mental health and how this can impact our pain.
Thursdays
11am – 12:30pm every week at Burngreave Vestry Hall
ACT have joined us in our Thursday group delivering chair-based exercises as well, which we've really enjoyed getting involved with!
We've had the usual Singing for Lung Health session this month, as well as Tammy from Burngreave Works talking to the group about their employment support offer and what that looks like. We've also got involved with different nature activities and done henna painting, which we all enjoyed!
Penny from our Communities Team joined us one week to talk about setting up small local groups and how she can support them.
As it is Ramadan, we also discussed managing Diabetes during this time.
“Practicing henna today has made me feel very therapeutic, it was my first time doing this activity and I really enjoyed it."
