July's Foundry Chronic Pain Groups

Are you looking for support with chronic pain, or you know someone who would benefit? Our Burngreave and Firvale chronic pain groups run every week - no need to book or call beforehand, just turn up for support, information and advice! Have a read to see what the groups got up to in July:

Tuesdays: (1pm – 2pm every Tuesday at Firvale Community Hub)

ree

We continued to move our bodies and talk about our experiences in July.

We had another visit from Wellbeing Coach Julie bringing the fun and energy with some new games and the usual self massaging, discussions, and chair exercises led by our Wellbeing Coach Tash.

Thursdays: (11am – 12:30pm every week at Burngreave Vestry Hall)

In July we were very fortunate to have a different visitor every week!

From Nurse Bernie giving advice on lung health and ways to improve our health, to Nisha from Ashay Dance getting us moving our bodies to music to create a majestic whole room dance routine, to Helen showing us breathing exercises with the help of some colourful material, to Julie bringing the fun exercise games, and last but not least, Lorna giving her time to teach us how to all breathe better for our mental and physical health.

What's Next:

  • Men and Women’s Group (Slovak Interpreters) - postponed over summer. Back first Tuesday of September

  • Men’s Group - postponed as we change venue. Details TBC

  • Women’s Group (Arabic, Urdu & Somali Interpreters), Thursdays, Burngreave Vestry Hall 11am – 12:30pm

Anyone living with chronic pain that would like to join a group to learn how to better manage in their day-to-day life as well as socialise and exercise are welcome to join any of the groups.

No need to contact us, just turn up as we currently have the space at all the groups for some additional group attendees.

All the best,

An enthusiastic SOAR Wellbeing Coach
