Tuesdays

Men and Women 1pm – 2pm every Tuesday at Firvale Community Hub

  • March involved continuing to talk about our pain and ways to manage it whilst using the massage balls and resistance bands to help stretch and strengthen our bodies.

  • We also had a visit from the wonderful Clair and Bernie (Primary Care Development Nurses) who gave us a very insightful talk into diabetes and living a healthier lifestyle.

Wednesdays

Men and Women 1pm – 2:30pm every Wednesday at Firth Park Hall (behind Firth Park Methodist Church)

  • March saw our group at The Hall behind Firth Park Methodist Church continue with support from Mental Health Peer Support Worker Patrick and Wellbeing Coaches Helen and Naheen.

  • We also had a visit from Nurses Bernie and Clair helping us to understand pre-diabetes and also the best advice for living healthier.

  • There were exercises for everyone in chairs and standing using resistance bands and bodyweight. The group even took on a challenge to the song – “Bring Sally Up” which was a lot of fun whilst working out!

Thursdays

Women only 11am – 12:30pm every week at Burngreave Vestry Hall

  • We had Wellbeing Coach Julie leading discussions on women’s health and menopause, Penny from the Communities team sharing some exciting local opportunities and we had some fun with henna in celebration of Eid.

  • And of course, we continued using the massage balls and exercising with the resistance bands!
