September's Foundry Chronic Pain Groups

Are you looking for support with chronic, persistent or long-term pain, or do you know someone who would benefit? We run weekly groups in Burngreave, Firvale, and Firth Park. Anyone living with chronic pain that would like to learn how to better manage in their day-to-day life as well as socialise and exercise are welcome to join any of our groups.

No need to contact us, just turn up!

Tuesdays

  • 1pm – 2pm every Tuesday at Firvale Community Hub

  • September involved continuing to talk about our pain and ways to manage it whilst using the massage balls. We continued using resistance bands to help stretch and strengthen our bodies. Next month we will be visited by NHS nurses as well as having blood pressure checks.

Wednesdays

  • 1pm – 2pm every Wednesday at Firth Park Hub, behind Firth Park Methodist Church

  • September saw our new group at The Hub behind Firth Park Methodist Church begin with support from SOAR Wellbeing Coach Helen and Nuffield’s Personal Trainer Stefan.

We spoke about living with chronic pain, what makes things worse and what can help. We did blood pressure checks and exercised together.

Thursdays

  • 11am – 12:30pm every week at Burngreave Vestry Hall

  • September involved many talks regarding living with chronic pain as well as helping one’s mental health. We used the massage balls and exercised with the resistance bands.

We were delighted to be joined by Singing for Lung Health & Wellbeing Practitioner Helen who continues each month to teach us more about how to improve our breathing and find our voices!

No need to contact us before coming, but if you want to speak to a member of staff, get in touch with our Wellbeing Coach, Tash:
