Volunteers Wanted!

We are looking for dedicated volunteers who can give a few hours a week ‘voluntary work placement’ to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Sheffield’s least healthy communities. You will work closely with the Project Worker to provide emotional support to suitable clients engaged with the Myself My Community project.

The Myself My Community social cafés are a relaxed and safe space where you can meet others, learn new skills and have some food & refreshments. It is a place to take time out from the stresses and strains of your week.

We're looking for people with experience of working with vulnerable adults and an understanding of professional boundaries and self-care when working with people recovering from serious mental illnesses, who would like to offer a few hours a week to supporting the delivery of the Myself My Community social café.

Cultural sensitivity & ability to speak a community language is desirable (e.g. Urdu/Punjabi, Arabic, Slovakian/Romanes).

Support & supervision can be offered to less experienced people with these skills, who want to progress into community health roles or community work.

The Myself My Community project is delivered by SOAR in partnership with Firvale Community Hub.

For more details see the volunteer role description below or contact Patrick via email or phone.
