Wellbeing Coach Case Study

SOAR's Wellbeing Coaches support local people who require practical support to improve their health & wellbeing and change their behaviour to achieve their own choices and goals.

This individual was referred into SOAR for support from a Wellbeing Coach on both a 1-1 and group basis, due to needing support with her mental health and PTSD, as well as support with physical activity and wanting to get involved with social groups.

She was supported by one of SOAR's Wellbeing Coaches on a 1-1 basis, and has also attended SOAR's local walks, Wellbeing Wednesdays, Peak Park Walks, and This Girl Can Pilates classes at Longley 4G. This individual was also supported by Adira for a hair appointment.

There has been a huge difference in the individual's confidence levels since we started working with her! She is taking more care of herself and her physical appearance since the hair appointment. Physical and mental health are improving, and she has made friends since coming to group activities.

When the time is right, SOAR's Welfare Coaches are here to help with housing support. This person will continue to attend groups and social activities such as Wellbeing Wednesdays and Peak Park Walks.

"I am better than the old me, but still not quite fully there yet. I know what I need to do and am working on it. I can handle things better than I used to, and you have helped me to do this."

We love it when multiple staff members and organisations can join together to support individuals collaboratively. Thanks to Janine & the other SOAR Wellbeing Coaches, the This Girl Can S5 team at Longley 4G, Ursula at Adira, and Tyrah and the team at Tyrah's Touch Hair Salon.
