Here at SOAR, we are constantly evolving and changing in the pursuit of excellence. To help achieve this, our recruitment processes are about getting the right people, to fit the right posts. Here is an introduction to the latest members of our team:

Ryan Pollard - Social Prescribing Link Worker

I’m really pleased to introduce myself as the new Social Prescribing Link Worker covering SAPA5. My role includes being the first point of call for SOAR clients. I query and assess the client’s needs and advise on all available options, both within SOARs internal services, and/or any external community services that may be appropriate.

I’m very excited to be part of the SOAR family! Everyone I’ve met has been incredibly welcoming and just lovely. I’m most excited about being part of such a caring, genuine team.

In my own time, I like to meditate, love a walk and a country pub, I like a jam on the guitar, love to cook (Thai green curry, bhuna curry, stew and dumplings, breakos, hazelnut chocolate cheesecake, the list goes on). I love being out and about but also right like a good duvet movie day with a shed load of snacks. That’s me in a nutshell!

Deb Mather - Social Prescribing Link Worker (Dementia)

My new role is the Dementia Link Worker, where I will be triaging and assessing (on the telephone) people with dementia and their carer(s). I will be signposting information / community groups / into SOAR’s teams, or arranging home visits with our Dementia Peer Support Worker, Lyndsey, for further assessment.

I will be doing 6-monthly Dementia wellbeing check-in calls, and I will also be supporting at the Dementia groups.

I’m excited to be completing my Dementia stars training and supporting people with Dementia and their families/carers. I am excited to help facilitate and run the Dementia groups, hopefully a new one with music!

I love spending time with my family exploring new places with them and playing games (it gets competitive!!). We are all huge basketball fans of the Sheffield Sharks and love going to their home games. I also enjoy new craft projects with friends and cooking new dishes to share.
